@Nvz1313782 @Knuckles1211029 The Ottoman Caliphate objectively still existed in 1916. You can argue it lost legitimacy, but saying it didn't exist is historically incorrect. The Ottomans' military decline doesn't automatically invalidate the caliphate. Many Muslim states had experienced defeats in the past.

@Nvz1313782 @Knuckles1211029 Different periods. During WWI, Britain backed both Ibn Saud and Sharif Hussein against the Ottomans and tried to keep them from fighting. After the Ottomans collapsed in 1918, Ibn Saud defeated Hussein and Britain recognized his rule in 1927.
