Signs that Germany is in the digital stone age: when I went to the Meldeamt to register my change of address today, their *digital* clock hadn't adjusted to summer time and was behind by an hour 🤦🏻♂️
@andrestaltz@miguelsmsilva Would love to hear it if there was one. I'm curious if you think that there must be a physical manifestation of an idea in the real world for it to be useful? What about beauty? Equality? Intelligence? I think it's common for useful ideas to not have a pure example in reality.
@andrestaltz@miguelsmsilva This doesn't mean that "declarative" is a useless word in general, as you mentioned in another comment. I think it just means that declarative is an idea, and that it's very hard to fully apply any idea in the real world. It's still useful to be able to express the idea :)
@andrestaltz@miguelsmsilva I think this is a bit of a "no true Scotsman". Your counterpoint presupposes that React must be fully declarative, but even the docs state clearly that it isn't (e.g. when discussing refs).
#NYC celebrating when the #AP called the #Election2020 like that scene at the end of Return of the Jedi. Latinx neighbors across the street singing "the cockroach can't walk anymore". Imagine making your own country hate you this much.
Serving NY-14 and fighting for working class families in Congress has been the greatest honor, privilege, & responsibility of my life.
Thank you to the Bronx & Queens for re-electing me to the House despite the millions spent against us, & trusting me to represent you once more.
To use a silly analogy, you should put biceps and triceps together (they work together to make an arm work), not biceps and hamstrings (both bend a limb).
I've been working on an old Rails project (14+ yo) since February, and on the somewhat rare occasions that I touch the frontend, I find myself frustrated by the existing convention that separates HTML templates from JS.
All this is just to say that component models are really great, and that we (the industry) misunderstood separation of concerns for a long time. It's about putting business things together, not like things.
