Carter and Hernandez ran the clubhouse and the defense, and a team with that much talent needed somebody doing exactly that. Look at the pieces one at a time and the win total stops being surprising.

The argument against them is that they won one title with that core and never got back, and it is a fair thing to raise.

Talent is not the same as results, and a single ring is a single ring no matter how loaded the roster looked in March.

But if you are ranking teams by how good they actually were across one season, rather than by what a dynasty accumulated over a decade, that roster belongs in the conversation. A ranking of seasons should measure seasons.

Everything else is a different card, and I would build that one differently.
