Thus far, based on the numbers we know, the biggest fight of 2026 financially was not in the US. or the UK. It was Inoue vs. Nakatani in Japan. The fight sold out the 55,000 seat Tokyo Dome, generated roughly $32 million at the gate and 1 million Japanese PPV buys, worth roughly $40 to $48 million in PPV sales alone. Add international broadcast rights, sponsorships and other revenue, and the event generated an estimated $65 to $70 million or more. There really hasn’t been another fight this year that comes close financially or competitively. Inoue vs. Nakatani was about as close to a true 50/50 fight as you can get at the highest level. The biggest fight of the year, thus far, was in Japan. This is something that all of the Inoue haters are just going to have to accept whether they like it or not.
