Saint Boniface was born around AD 675 in England and was given the name Winfrid. From a young age, he felt called to serve God and became a Benedictine monk, known for his learning, holiness, and love for the Gospel.
Inspired by a desire to spread the Christian faith, he left his homeland and travelled to what is now Germany. There he preached the Gospel, converted many people, founded monasteries, established dioceses including Mainz (where he became Archbishop), Würzburg, Erfurt, Eichstätt, and Büraburg, and helped strengthen the Church throughout the region.
One of the most famous events of his life was the felling of the sacred Oak of Thor, a tree worshipped by pagans. By doing so, he demonstrated that the pagan gods had no power and led many people to embrace Christianity.
Pope Gregory II appointed him bishop and later archbishop. Because of his tireless missionary work, he became known as the “Apostle of Germany.”
In AD 754, while preparing a group of new converts for Confirmation in Frisia (modern-day Netherlands), Boniface and his companions were attacked and killed. Rather than defend himself with weapons, he is said to have held up the Gospel Book as he faced martyrdom.
St. Boniface is remembered as a courageous missionary, wise bishop, and faithful martyr who helped shape the Christian faith in Europe.
St. Boniface, Bishop and Martyr, pray for us.

@Mrbankstips The funniest part is people calling confidence ‘pride’ only when the results back it up. If success was easy, they’d be too busy winning to keep watching your every move 😭💯
