7- The lack of condemnation ≠ support of Hamas

Without a war & Israeli bombs flattening Gaza & creating a "rallying around the flag" effect, you'd hear a diversity of Palestinian views & criticisms of Hamas' gov in Gaza, its ideology, its strategy & actions.

6- The death of any political, diplomatic, peaceful or legal horizon for Palestinians to gain their rights, defend themselves, improve their lives or get any justice creates some domestic legitimacy for "armed resistance" as an alternative

5- The current bombing & besieging of Gaza (& 56-year-long apartheid) means many see Israel to have committed far worse against Palestinians, whether in the last two weeks (1500 kids killed, 121,000 homes destroyed) or in the last 75 years.

4- Palestinians don't have an army. The Palestinian Authority isn't allowed to defend its people against IDF soldiers & settlers

To some, the existence of Hamas' military wing (not necessarily its actions) is seen as a deterrent to Israeli soldiers & settlers raiding Gaza freely

3- Palestinians don't want to have the blood of their families & friends on their hands, b/c Israel will weaponize any domestic criticism of Hamas for PR to justify its carnage in Gaza.
