In all fairness; a union's purpose is to collectively bargain on behalf of its members for fair compensation and a safe work environment (and/or similar benefits) from their employers. π€·ββοΈ
According to the annual infrastructure report card for 2021 schools received a D+; expiring this month is also the Child Tax Credit that cut child poverty in half; class sizes have increased due to underfunding while programs and resources are cut 1/2
Those programs and services (like counselors) are being replaced with police in hopes of preventing the repeated school shootings we have each year. It is almost like the nation doesn't have the best interest of our children in mind. 2/2
@BCilwick I wonder about the vibe when voting's "compulsory." Similarly, some states (e.g. SD) offered a ballot measure for things like weed. It passed & Rs won big too. What if there were ballot measures at the national level for politicians/parties to see what the electorate wants?
@BCilwick UT had near universal Mail-in Voting in 2016 and full Mail-in Voting in 2020; they still voted overwhelmingly R. In 2016 vote by mail counties had 5-7% higher participation.
.
Better turnout let's people see more of where the vibe of the electorate is instead of guessing.
Instead of the 10 year challenge we are doing the 10-ish month challenge because Clark doesn't have the same body-dysmorphia and confidence issues I do π€·ββοΈ

Happy Christmas to those who celebrate from my family to yours. Take an opportunity to spend time with those you care for (virtually or in person). Read. Analyze. Debate. Keep an open mind and a (moderately) civil tongue.
