it’s clear that personal records and breakthrough performances at distances from 800 meters to the 10K come only by getting out of your comfort zone and into your “Go Zone.” Find out if "Go Zone" racing is right for you: https://t.co/Mdzm5TN9WL
Racing is like having an angeland devil on your shoulder. One encouraging you to press on, the other to stop. As the race progresses, the devil's voice gets louder. You have to learn how to tune in to the angels whisper, letting the devils raucous noise go

REMINDER: You can't judge a workout/race by your warm-up. Case in point. On Sat, I did another race in my Fall XC series & felt terrible warming up. But, I felt great in the race & ran my best this season. You just never know so don't invest a lot in how you feel beforehand.
The beauty of any endurance sport is that it comes down to you alone in your head making a choice. Do you push through the pain and doubt, or do you give in to that ever-growing inner-voice that you should stop?
Do you choose the difficult path?

Sure cross country has individual aspects, but an individual sport? Imagine showing up to practice and nobodies there to join you. Riding the team bus by yourself. Going to the starting line by yourself. Finishing a race without a group to go back too.
This is a team sport.

1. Getting fit is easy, expressing that fitness is the challenge.
2. If you are sufficiently motivated, it is easy to train yourself into the ground.

In today’s @TB_Times: By my very conservative count, more than 1/3 of Power Five schools have built/renovated football-only complexes since 2013 (or are working on it now). Combined cost: $1.2 Billion. https://t.co/MLgkZiWZOc
