In all honesty, the "i made you and so I can destroy you" rhetoric is also very much abusive and manipulative.
Regardless of the (current) situation, pls know that, if anyone throws this (or a variation) in your face - parents incl - it's not ok.
@facerpji@Fury5kle A note important: Honestly, living knowing that any mistake will be amplified by thousands of people ready to attack is not a recipe for happiness or healthy growth.
I don’t think so. I’m being careful of where I place my hurt and how I express it and I will continue to reflect and use this as a moment to learn about myself as a fan. I love BTS and I’m so grateful to have them in my life.
But it’s also a moment to step back and reflect. Is it fair to expect perfection from any person, let alone an artist you will never meet in real life? Is it fair to demand intachable behaviour from those already walking on our side?
The solution. Whether they intentionally sought to do that or not, they have shown to ARMY that they are willing to listen, to grow, to try, to constantly examine themselves as human beings. Doesn’t BTS and ARMY walk side by side? This means one is not above the other, and that+
Like CB. ARMY is an economic force to be reckoned with. This is a message onto itself. BTS have done incredible work to make women, 2SLGBTQI+ people and so many others feel included and safe. Losing the sense of proportion in this situation is like turning against our own allies+
They have been trying to tell you they are normal people for years. They never said they weren't talented or exceptional at their jobs. They simply said they are normal people. They have been begging to be taken off those pedestals you put them on. Let them be human, please.
I’m a DV survivor, and honestly, all this performative outrage sickens me. I’m so fed up with token stans who are ready to throw BTS under the bus because they’ve put them on a pedestal and feel entitled to control what they do, say, and who they interact with.
They went to a concert in their own private time. That is not some declaration of support for CB, nor did they condone his character or actions. Yet some of you are acting as though they’ve committed some horrendous crime.
For those of you who are new to our fandom: being ARMY does not mean blindly agreeing with everything BTS do, but it does mean not feeding antis ammunition or joining the mass pile-on when so many eyes are already on us. Everyone is entitled to their feelings, which is exactly why group chats and private spaces exist - to keep those conversations in-house rather than turning them into public attacks.
As an ARMY, I won’t always like or agree with everything they do, but I will always defend their right to live their lives and make their own choices, so long as they aren’t harming anyone. I will never weaponise my personal feelings against them through meaningless public posts. BTS literally saved me and helped me heal from so much of my trauma. I owe them a lot; they owe me nothing.
Everyone is entitled to their feelings, but BTS are not responsible for managing those feelings for you. If simply attending a concert has you questioning their character and morals, demanding apologies, talking about “holding them accountable,” or wanting to participate in retaliation such as a black ocean, then perhaps the Magic Shop has closed for you.
Please block me on your way out
namjoon defended armys when james corden called armys 15 year old fan girls, namjoon is perhaps the only idol who reads and makes an effort on feminism as a man in a misogynistic climate and took responsibility for every action seen as a mistake, namjoon says women shouldn't face marriage pressure, namjoon wrote a song supporting lgbt before debuting in 2012, bts members in general don't put love into gender roles, hoseok tells his female fans you should be careful against every man, hoseok praises women in the most beautiful way without sexualizing them in his songs and many more things. yes you might have experienced disappointment, but i won't let you forget especially namjoon's and hoseok's respect for women.
He said it all… Looking at these accs, not a single post advocating for the victims or protesting against CB.
Using that outrage mode to disqualify BTS just for aesthetics, but not bringing any outcome outside that.. and that says a lot about their hypocrisy and performative.
Vocal line: WWH Jin
🌕Awake - I don’t have to be perfect to deserve my place here.
🌕Epiphany - Loving you cannot require me to abandon myself.
🌕Moon - I can genuinely love and appreciate ARMY without that love meaning ARMY owns my decisions.
🌕Abyss - The person entertaining and comforting you can be struggling underneath the version of him you see.
🌕Super Tuna - Not everything an artist does needs to carry enormous meaning. Sometimes Jin/BTS gets to do something simply because it’s fun. No judgment or expectation needed.
🌕The Astronaut - Connection and love don’t erase individuality.
🌕Running Wild - Life is meant to be lived, not permanently managed around everybody else’s expectations.
🌕Another Level - Keep moving despite what comes against you.
🌕Don’t Say You Love Me - Saying “I love you” doesn’t automatically make everything you demand in the name of that love healthy.
🌕Loser - A human being doesn’t have to maintain an image of perfection to deserve love.
🌕With the Clouds - Finding emotional space and comfort away from the weight of everyday reality.
🌕Background - Potentially very relevant to celebrity identity. Existing behind what everybody sees publicly and recognizing that the visible version of a person isn’t necessarily the entirety of that person.
The fact that Jin has been telling himself, his members, and us to love ourselves in a way that protects us from outward influences/judgment. I don’t think some people hear the message in his lyrics.
