@2justlaugh@RockChartrand@MarketPalmer_ I don’t know if you’ve bought a TV recently, but the reality is that inexpensive TVs run a lot of ads in the menus. It makes the TV cheaper for the consumer, and you have to pay more for a similar product that doesn’t have ads
@RockChartrand@MarketPalmer_ That’s not entirely correct. A large part of why TVs are so cheap now is that they figured out how to sell ad placements in the TV menus. So in a way it’s being subsidised by advertisers.
@varjag@honigmaydl 95% of Yosemite is designated wilderness. It's like if you put Jotunheim on one side of the road and a couple of Rondanes on the other.
@AngloChud2001@ReviewsPossum Can you though? If a show isn’t set in a major city or clearly shows establishing shots of landmarks, how could you tell the difference between Sweden and eastern Norway? Could you tell the difference between Rhodes and Cyprus?
@AngloChud2001@ReviewsPossum Breaking Bad is obviously set in the southwestern US, so that sort of narrows it down even if you don’t know the difference between New Mexico and Arizona
@CandiedOpinions@mrs_alyse Canada is very culturally diverse. You can cross the border from New Hampshire (US) into a Canadian province where everything is in French and people speak English with a heavy French accent
