Coworker: I saw your profile picture, “were” you a runner?
Me: Oh yes, hopefully still am, or will be again. That’s from when I ran across the country.
Her: Oh cool, and have you ever done a marathon?
My lack of postpartum running has less to do with time and energy available and more to do with the fact that I’m getting all my Type II fun needs met through motherhood.
Coach Maggie: Setting internal motivators is a highly recommended approach to training. When you draft your goals, think of your feelings towards them, not the validation from others.
Me, later that day to my partner: 😭 Not a single person complimented me on my new pants. 😭
Kiddos are sleeping, I'm (mostly) caught up in school, and getting some writing done.
Better pack the family up, move to another country, start another course, and run a marathon.
Why am I like this?
Decided to take the boys (20 mos/3 mos) to my parents next week, solo.
And I find myself mentally prepping like it’s a 100 miler or something.
Does this count as a training run for @Marine_Marathon?
