@hluinet @RealCandaceO I agree. What I love about debate as a course (high school, college etc…) is that it forces students to create an argument for BOTH sides of an issue. Critical thinking at its best!

@MRileyGolf It is their competitive nature. The best we could do was to encourage her and support her. When she won, we celebrated. When she lost, we let her cry, then waited a day to tell her to move on. Don’t understand the parents who push their kids athletically like that.

@MRileyGolf Agree! As the parent of a female who played high school golf, was state champion and played division 1 golf in college … Hubby and I spent years trying to convince her to “just have fun” and enjoy the game. Competitive golfers don’t think that way. They are hard on themselves.
