everyone talks about uni like it's a scam on here
I went to Edinburgh Uni, my ex went to Cambridge, and my gf went to Edinburgh too
yeah, I was never a typical medical student. I spent my week nights DJing and running nights, and my weekends in country houses avoiding hospital wards
I remember the first time I got an envelope of cash handed to me after selling out an 800 capacity club at the age of 19, and just sitting there looking at it
then I'd end up revising from 7am to 3am for a month straight before exams, but the lectures never interested me. It was boring, rote learning
but then what did interest me were the psychiatrists that taught me more about the human mind whilst driving me in a car from placement to placement than anyone else ever had
the feeling of being in a rarified place, with rare people
seeing how high the bar could be in terms of knowledge, respect, culture, gravitas
go to uni. learn. meet girls. meet 65 year old professors who are only there because they love sharing knowledge. meet lifelong friends. spend nights awake and days asleep and pick the pieces up after.
be young and learn in a place where the world has always chosen to be young and learn
