Diane managed to walk to a nearby McDonald’s, whose staff called for help. She spent 9 months in the hospital, including 3 months in intensive care, enduring multiple surgeries, skin grafts, and organ failure. She suffered 3rd-degree burns over 1/3 of her body, is now legally blind, confined to a wheelchair, and will need living assistance for the rest of her life.

🚨For 590 Days, Tilly Has Lived Inside a Shelter. Now She Finally Has a Chance to Leave

While hundreds of dogs came and went, Tilly stayed tucked away in the back of the shelter as a court case dog. For nearly two years, she was held as live evidence while her case moved slowly through the legal system.

She couldn’t leave the shelter property. She couldn’t walk through the public areas. She just waited.

Day after day. Month after month.

Now her case is finally over, and everyone who knows Tilly is so happy for her. But the hard truth is, she still isn’t free until she walks out of the shelter for good.

She’s about 4 years old, has done well meeting other dogs, and loves being around people. When she gets time with someone, you can see her whole body relax. For a little while, she gets to feel like more than a shelter dog.

It’s hard not to think about what almost two years of waiting has felt like for her.

Now she needs someone to give her the fresh start she has waited 590 days for.
