USAID, the world's largest humanitarian services agency, had saved 92,000,000 lives since being launched by JFK in 1961. The twerps at DOGE said it had funded condoms for "gay Hamas" in Gaza. It turned out the funding was for HIV/AIDS prevention in a town by that name in Mozambique. They said it funded BBC. It turned out to be funding for BBC Media Action, a charity. The broadcaster received its funding from licenses.

Elon Musk stated that he spent a weekend feeding the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) "into the wood chipper". Before that, Musk appeared onstage with a chainsaw given to him by Argentinian strongman Javier Millei. Musk characterized USAID as "beyond repair" and described it as "evil" and a "ball of worms."

By the first anniversary of the shutdown, there had been 762,000 deaths, including 500,000 children, due to the abrupt halt in vital humanitarian services.

The 14,051,750 deaths forecast to result from USAID shutdown represented 2.34 times the 6,000,000 deaths in the Holocaust. The deaths were about 70.3% as many as the 20,000,000 estimated to have occurred in the COVID-29 pandemic.
