At 29, I was healthy, growing an 8-figure business, and loving life.
At 30, I got sick and spent the next 2+ years bedridden.
At 32, I had two spinal fusions within 24 hours.
At 35, I started moving again...ten minutes at a time.
At 38, I was the only finisher of a 200-mile race.
To this day, there’s not a day I’m not in pain.
But there’s also not a day I don’t show up.
No matter where you are in your climb…
Keep showing up.
I haven’t had a pain free day since 2014.
That changes how you build a life.
You can’t base everything around perfect energy, perfect sleep, perfect motivation, or perfect health.
So I keep coming back to one question:
What still moves forward when I’m not at 100%?
That’s why I care so much about systems, AI, training plans, checklists, and simple daily actions.
Not because I want to be robotic.
Because I need something that still works when life doesn’t feel easy.
Not perfect days.
Not fake motivation.
Not pretending I have everything figured out.
Just finding the next move and taking it.
Forward progress.
@finchoceandata For real. And the fact that they were all within minutes of each other too, was even crazier. I couldn't imagine them having to sprint it out.
Vincent Bouillard's 2026 Western States 100 winning time of 13:46:16 lowers the course record of 14:09:28, set by Jim Walmsley in 2019, by 23 minutes, 12 seconds.
After winning the 2024 UTMB, he now adds the #WS100 title to his résumé.
Went to the co-op to get some straw and ended up impulse buying some Kune Kune piglets. These two girls have already started feeling at home rooting around and rolling in the mud. Now to think of some names.
Had an amazing weekend hosting the live stream of Mid State Mile. 115 people battled it out with Harvey Lewis taking the win after 148 loops, 161 miles and over 50K of elevation gain and loss. All on a 1.1 mile loop.
It was incredible to watch these athletes battle it out for 3 days.

Today, we're introducing Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5, two configurations of our next major language model.
I'd normally highlight the numbers: It's SOTA on nearly all benchmarks. I want to talk about something else, because with Fable 5 out in the world, I think a third era quietly started today.
I lead Claude Code & Cowork on the desktop, so I think a lot about how people use AI to get work done. I believe we're about to see a major shift, moving from giving AI tasks to giving it responsibilities.
