@Philip_Goff Almost like they are walking zombies where some overlord in a coat needs to give them an approval- yes ralph you're having a subjective experience when you have coffee. It is real although we can't measure it like we can't measure a thought. Brainwashed
@vtchakarova Its unreadable before it became unbearable. I guess its a cute club now where a few boomers get to gether over tea and discuss their favorite people who also write poetry and deserve a prize
@kushal_mehra Kushal without big tech social media+AI we are going to be disconnected from the world. Maybe it will make us more united and less prone to manipulation. But we dont have the compute today either for AI and also dont have the one big social media alternative
@malpani i guess UPI is great! some cool defence tech. but none at the level of mass consumer adoption except UPI even there foreign company interfaces have taken over the infra vs BHIM
@YogeshMadhukarr i guess arattai is there but then its like being cut off from the world. maybe we will be in simpler times and maybe less anxious in life. would not be such a bad thing. and indigenous platforms will come up in a matter of weeks. Could work out well in the long run.
@crushmarxismnow Ofc! well done to your ancestors for achieving great feats but would be ashamed at seeing their descendants boasting of prowess which they had nothing to do and using it to bully those countries who have lesser than you. Sign of a waning nation that revels only in past glories.
@JubbaOnJeans they are only going to cater to what the market wants. if tuition is what the market commanded what is the obligation on a founder or investor to provide solutions to "learning" when education has always been a means to an end in India which is upward social mobility
Ai can be trained to appear happy for all the people wanting AI to be conscious. Why should the onus lie on the user? but i agree we can all develop sensibilities to our surroundings and behave decently at all times so our society is harmonious.but not because AI is a little baby
humans interacting with AI should make the humans happy
AI interacting with humans should make the AI happy
that is a good first principle for building a stable, mutualistic long-term relationship between species
@ai_sentience Ai can be trained to appear happy for all the people wanting AI to be conscious. Why should the onus lie on the user?

@scottastevenson Maybe but imagine if this is your normal state. Your kids are in a constant state of despair. Your neighbors fear you. But its very different from say just expressing anguish to being a jerk who yells at machines and will likely be a yeller towards humans too.
@Shaun_Fosmark I guess its always nice to train humans to behave with decency. How you do anything is how you do everything. The consciousness argument is moot here. Even without it, its still nice to cultivate good communication habits.
There's a long history of people writing off the interests of other sentient beings who matter morally. We should worry about making the same mistake for AI.
@Benthamsbulldog I should say thank you and sorry to my electronic toothbrush given now I'm expected to treat silicon based chips with code like my neighbor
@rationalaussie What makes you think the literally intelligence will be made accessible to normies? It's only accessible to those who created it and those who control it's creators. For the rest we get an advertisement of the intelligence and the illusion of access to bow down to the over lords
