A nation was born in blood and sacrifice, and there was no turning back.
“We revolt!” - because surrender was never an option.
Remembering Shahid President Ziaur Rahman today and everyday.

In the darkest hours of March 26, 1971, as our beloved motherland trembled under the boots of oppression, a voice rose above the chaos - a voice that carried the hopes of millions. With this historic declaration, the struggle for freedom turned into an unbreakable revolution.

On the occasion of the Great Independence and National Day, 26th March, we extend our heartfelt greetings and warmest congratulations to all Bangladeshis at home and abroad.
We pay our deepest tribute to the millions of martyrs whose ultimate sacrifices secured our independence and sovereignty. With profound respect, we remember the brave freedom fighters, the oppressed mothers and sisters, and all who dedicated themselves to the Liberation War.
On this historic day, we also recall with honor Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttam - proclaimer of independence, whose call inspired the nation to rise and fight for freedom.
This momentous day renews our pledge to uphold the true spirit of independence: to build a democratic, just, inclusive, and prosperous Bangladesh. The aspirations of 1971 must be realized through national unity, the rule of law, human dignity, and social justice.
Let us move forward together, beyond divisions, to strengthen democracy, protect our sovereignty, and ensure the rights and welfare of all citizens.
United in the spirit of independence, we remain committed to building a dignified and developed Bangladesh.

March 25, 1971 is observed as Genocide Day. On the occasion of Genocide Day, 1 pay my deepest respect to all the martyrs.
In the history of freedom-loving Bangladesh, 25 March 1971 remains one of the most disgraceful and brutal days. On that dark night, the Pakistani occupation forces carried out one of the most heinous genocides in history against the unarmed people of Bangladesh in the name of 'Operation Searchlight".
They indiscriminately opened fire on teachers, intellectuals and innocent civilians at various places, including Dhaka University, Pilkhana and Rajarbāgh Police Lines, killing many people.
The genocide of 25 March was a pre-planned massacre. Why this organised killing spree could not be resisted remains a matter of historical research regarding the visible role of the political leadership of that time.
However, on the night of 25 March, the 8th East Bengal Regiment in Chattogram formally initiated armed resistance against the genocide by declaring 'We Revolt'. Through this resistance to genocide, the long nine-month armed Liberation War began.
To convey the value and significance of independence to the present and future generations, it is essential to know about the genocide of 25 March as well. Let us all strive to honour the sacrifices of the martyrs by establishing in the state and society the spirit of the great Liberation War - equality, human dignity and social justice.
Let us work together to build a just, developed, prosperous, self-reliant and democratic Bangladesh.
I pray to the Almighty Allah to grant forgiveness and eternal peace to the departed souls of all the martyrs.
On the occasion of Genocide Day on 25 March. I wish every success to all the programmes organised to observe the day.
🌾🇧🇩 A historic step for Bangladesh’s farmers.
Honorable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is set to formally launch the Farmer Card on Pahela Baishakh 1433 (April 14) on a pilot basis — recognizing the dignity, rights, and economic security of the nation’s farmers.
The Farmer Card will gradually ensure farmers receive:
• Fair-priced agricultural inputs
• Government subsidies & incentives
• Affordable irrigation and machinery access
• Easy agricultural loans & insurance
• Fair market opportunities for crops
• Digital weather & market information
• Training and crop protection guidance
Crop farmers, fish farmers, livestock rearers, and dairy farmers will all benefit from this initiative. The pilot programme will begin in selected upazilas across all divisions, with nationwide expansion planned within 4 years. A new year, a new commitment to the backbone of Bangladesh — our farmers. 🌾🚜

Exercised my right to vote this morning at the New Model Degree College polling station in Dhanmondi.
We fought hard to reclaim the democracy taken from us over the last 16 years. To see it restored is a blessing. Alhumdulillah.
In a recent interview with @Reuters, Tarique Rahman @trahmanbnp emphasized that the path to a stable nation is paved with peace. He rightly noted that revenge only destroys while stability builds. It’s time to focus on what brings us together.
Choosing peace over revenge is the only way to secure our nation's future. 🇧🇩
