On this festival of Michael and All Angels, join me in this prayer.

❗ A £5 jar of chutney from National Trust Sutton Hoo has sparked frustration — the label admits its tomatoes & onions are sourced outside the UK.

With British farms producing these crops on our doorstep, why isn’t the Trust backing home-grown food? Supporting UK farmers matters — for fair trade, food miles and the countryside

Do you think big organisations should commit to British ingredients first? 🤔

❌ Please avoid using these.

They might look good, but could very easily cause the death of an animal.

Once again no mention of Food. Has nobody worked out we are what we eat? Surely the most important part of any child’s education is being given access to a healthy balanced diet. Learning to cook & maybe if we valued food we wouldn’t have the highest level of food waste in EU.

Responding to Keir Starmer’s failure to declare gifts of clothes from a Labour donor, David Lammy insists ‘PMs rely on donations so they can always look their best’

@DocBrush @RiponCuddesdon Congratulations!

[OurCofELike @OurCofELike]

Today the Church commemorates St Augustine of Hippo, a figure I’ve found particularly helpful. I think his statement ‘Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee’ is one of the most perfectly crafted sentences ever written.

To the ableist people who have said I should stay at home, not work, not expect to travel on a bank holiday, not travel on my own…. Ummm not happening

[OurCofELike @OurCofELike]

The first touches of autumnal gold have begun to creep into the churchyard. We’ve not had much of a summer this year, but regardless of the weather the Church’s year moves on and our rhythm of prayer continues.

We can never be silent in the face of injustice, racism, religious discrimination or the abuse of human rights. Every person, irrespective of their place of birth, language or colour of skin, owns an indelible God given dignity that we must honour & uphold. No exceptions!
