Today I interviewed an LGBT elder activist. I asked her how she felt about Pride month and she said, “It’s weird. Whenever I go to the Parade, I notice how few gay man in their 50s-70s are there. We lost so much of that generation and I feel that void every day.”
I want to share with you the artwork of the Ukrainian artist Fedir Krychevsky (1879 – 1947). This is his most known triptych work called “Life.” For me, this war led to a different way of looking at this artwork 👇
The art of calligraphy on a dried leaf, was practised widely in Ottoman Turkey. This was difficult & delicate work. The leaf was dried, & the tissue removed to leave the skeletal membrane, with gold ink applied over it.
