As a former prosecutor, I saw firsthand how gaps in behavioral health care in VA jails can put inmates & communities at risk.
Yesterday, the Behavioral Health Commission discussed standards for screening, treatment, discharge planning, & suicide monitoring.
Been a productive two days w/ fellow lawmakers & @Hunt_Institute talking education issues. Some highlights for me: expanding Pre-K, access to education in our prisons & reducing recidivism & what effective policy around kids’ social media & tech use actually looks like. #VALeg
We secured $1M for Great Meadow in this year’s state budget, but I’m not done. I’ll keep fighting for Great Meadow & VA’s equine industry in Richmond.
Incredibly honored to be recognized tonight by Great Meadow for service to a foundation that does so much for Fauquier & SD-31.
Lots of important natural resource policy before the Rappahannock River Basin Commission yesterday, including PFAS recommendations and a discussion about experimental underwater data centers.
My SB 338 banned the sale of Virginians’ personal geolocation data & gave the AG the power to hold violators accountable.
The investigation into https://t.co/hllFPg4X2m sends a clear message to companies looking to profit off our most sensitive info—our privacy isn't for sale.
Learn more about BAL, their fight to end hunger in our community & the incredible programs they offer so many kids who may not otherwise have access to them.
Their newly-formed children's choir "Voices of Hope" blew us all away last night. 🙌

Every kid deserves to feel safe, have enough to eat & know people are looking out for them. Betteralife (BAL) has spent 10 years giving kids in our community all three.
Loved celebrating BAL last night & presenting SJ200 to honor Elizabeth Ford & all BAL does daily for our kids.
As concerns around declining access to maternal care grow, our Commission on Women’s Health Life Experiences Subcommittee met today to discuss expanding donor milk access and strengthening maternal, fetal & infant mortality reviews.
So grateful to our Sheriff’s department who moved quickly & were able to avert a potential tragedy.
I also want to thank @RussetPerry as it was her 2025 law that allowed law enforcement to act on social media posts…a law that may have saved lives today.

Loudoun is home to an incredible agricultural community & making sure our farmers can keep farming is a big part of my work in Richmond.
I was honored to present Loudoun Farm Bureau w/ SJ69 celebrating @VAFarmBureau’s 𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 to #VAag & farm families.
Today we cut the ribbon on the Loudoun Crisis Receiving Center. As a special justice, I saw people wait days in ER rooms for a bed. Now: no wrong door, one place for evaluation and treatment, and law enforcement back on patrol. Thank you to all who made this happen.
Joined a packed & energized house in Fauquier tonight supporting my friend & Congressman @SuhasforVA.
With healthcare, our economy, a war & so much more at stake this November, we need Suhas back in Congress & we need to flip the House. Early voting starts tomorrow. Let’s go!!
Despite recent rainfall, Virginia farmers are still experiencing prolonged drought conditions and are facing a 500,000 ton hay shortage, as groundwater & aquifers can take months to replenish.
@GovernorVA’s state of emergency is critical to preventing additional losses.
New: Per her office, @GovernorVA has "declared a State of Emergency to support Virginia farmers and producers in response to the statewide hay shortage caused by ongoing drought conditions."
I’ve been fighting in Richmond for a moratorium on new data centers and against the Valley North transmission lines.
Tonight, the Loudoun Board of Supervisors is considering action on both at the county level.
I wrote the Board in strong support. See my comments here:
As a former prosecutor, I know how much sentencing decisions matter for victims, defendants, & our communities. At yesterday's Sentencing Commission meeting, we continued to work to obtain sentencing information from all our courts to ensure parity in sentencing across Virginia.
25 years later, we remember the lives stolen on 9/11, the heroes who ran toward danger & those lost since to 9/11-related illnesses.
We can honor them by putting our shared humanity above what divides us & to be the country their courage showed us we could be. #NeverForget
Today is the deadline to comment on Verizon’s proposed phaseout of copper landlines in Fauquier County.
I submitted testimony laying out my concerns about 9-1-1 access during outages & where cell service is unreliable. Submit your own objections here: https://t.co/hZisXKeeGo
