People treat the Lindsay Clancy trial like it’s just an online fight. It isn’t. I sat down in a restaurant on the Lower East Side tonight, and within two minutes the two men next to me started talking about it with me. About their outrage and how they’d lost all respect for the women in their lives who sided with Lindsay—and how they’ve lost respect for women today in general. This case is having real-world ripple effects on how many men and women see each other. It isn’t small.
THIS is an example of high human intelligence and the scale of intelligence we must have in anything we call AGI.
If it looks emotional, that is because IT IS.
And if you do the decades of research I have you will know this is the first principle of high intelligence.
Feel it?
People laugh at 50cc’s, but my Yamaha FS1 saved me 💙
I lived in a dead end town with nowhere to go
8,000 miles over the years on that fun little two stroke gave me the escape I needed to find work and get educated in the wider world
Forever grateful to the almighty Fizzie 💨
Ten years ago a 12-year-old from Dnipro sat down and played like he’d already lived a few lives behind the kit. Most people only ever saw the clips. This is the full solo. 🥁
To the Uknown Juror,
I do not know your name and we have never met. I am writing anyway because what you did in that jury room matters.
You sat through weeks of evidence about Cora, Dawson, and Callan—three children who were strangled in their own home.
You then spent days in deliberations with eleven other people who wanted to walk away without holding their killer criminally responsible. You did not join them. You held the line. That took more courage than most people will ever have to show.
The pressure you faced was obvious from the outside. Nine of the twelve jurors were women. The defense and much of the commentary around the case treated postpartum as an automatic get-out-of-accountability card.
When the split became public, the lawyer for the woman who killed those children went after you personally and tried to have you removed. You still would not vote to acquit. That is not stubbornness. That is a man who looked at three dead children and refused to pretend the law required him to look away.
You were one vote standing between a unanimous finding of “not criminally responsible” and a hung jury. You chose the hung jury. You chose not to cave. In a room that had already decided the outcome, you chose the children over the narrative. That is rare. It is also why I am proud of you.
You are a hero to people who still believe that strangling a five-year-old, a three-year-old, and an eight-month-old baby is a crime that requires an answer, not an excuse. Thank you for standing there when it would have been easier to fold.
Thank you for being a man that defends children.
If
by Rudyard Kipling
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

No, it’s not “totally bizarre” that he remarried this April, more than three years after his children were murdered. What is he supposed to do, put his life on hold indefinitely to satisfy internet harpies like you? His children were murdered. He is allowed to keep living.
The guy built a park in honor of his 3 kids, raised $75,000 running the Boston Marathon, & created an organization that focuses on parental mental health but God forbid he try to move on from the literal worst thing ever happening to him, you people are insanely evil.
