“Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.” - Dune.
The Butlerian Jihad ended with a galaxy-wide ban:
“Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of a human mind.” No AI, No computers, Only human potential. #Dune #ButlerianJihad
Maths can be an amazing thing. The fact that you can derive the same empirically-tested formula two radically different ways points directly to a deeper theory that underlies both. Maths shows the path #QI
I've had the first progress in deriving the QI capacitor thrust equation from "First Quantisation" as required by the potential funder. It's a cheeky way to do it, but valid. It has meant going back to the Planck law. I'm not fully there yet but I think it can be done now. Phew.
My objection to abstract arbitrary concepts (like extra dimensions, dark matter or strings) is that they cannot be directly falsified by experiment & so their adoption causes an entire subject to disappear up its own tail pipe, as physics has. All arbitraries must be eradicated.
The great thing about quantised inertia is that it's more grounded than the old cosmology, so anyone w/ a STEM education can use to out-predict the mainstream, make contributions to it & even tinker with QI thrust & power in their garage. Many now are. QI democratises physics.
I've managed to bung a lot into my new paper "Relativistic Dynamics from an Observer-Dependent Quantum Background". It does what Einstein did with an un-directly-testable concept (space-time) with the testable quantum background instead. It works so far & predicts galaxies too.
I'll be talking to the National Physical Laboratory later today to clarify costing on the possible #QI thrust test. Beyond one unambiguous test lies a new world of better physics, cheap power, easy space & interstellar travel.
What I learned during my PhD (looking at & modelling a north Atlantic salinity anomaly) & after at the Met Office (testing their ocean / wave models) is that one should not just think about physics, but should think about it in the context of a real anomalous observation.
I'll be having a meeting today with the National Physical Laboratory, to assess how they can test for thrust from quantised inertia unambiguously. There are some great ways to do that & they are among the best people on the planet to do it.
A painting depicting a battle with a dragon, hidden behind other paintings for over 380 years, was discovered just four years ago during church restoration.
I have another meeting today to work towards funding a study to map the detailed structure of a Rindler horizon, & another to look at #QI's predictions way in the past.
