Close range intercept of a damaging tornado, which was immediately followed by another rope tornado that occurred near West Liberty, Iowa earlier this evening.
@SevereStudios@NWSQuadCities#iawx
As we near the start of peak severe weather season over through April and June, I wanna first thank all of the new followers and supporters that I have gotten over the last 3 months from documenting and chasing all forms of severe weather, winter storms, and wildfires.
All of the support that y'all have given helps push my posts out more when y'all interact with them.
With that being said, I want to re-introduce myself to my old followers, as well as introduce myself to my new followers (and future followers).
My name is Max, I'm a storm chaser, weather enthusiast, photographer, videographer, I enjoy fishing, watching and playing basketball and watching football (mostly college football). I'm 18 year's old and this will be my third full season of storm chasing. I plan on attending Oklahoma University's School of Meteorology to get a meteorology degree starting this Fall. Our chase vehicle is a 2015 3500 Chevrolet Silverado Dually Duramax named Black Betty, and Betty been our dedicated chase vehicle for us since we started storm chasing in late 2022. Even though it's not the most "practical" chase vehicle for a lot of people, Betty has been extremely reliable, helped us get other storm chasers out of the ditch, and has kept us safe on over a dozen different storm chasers from dealing with strong 100+ mph RFD, to getting hit by a few weak tornadoes, and a stronger EF2 tornado, and has kept us completely safe from those events because Betty weights around 12,000-13,000 pounds and has barely moved aside from getting hit by the EF2 tornado.
In our chases, I am the forecaster, navigator, I make all of my social media posts, run my live streams, interpret radar, and do everything in between myself, but for now, my parents are the ones that drive Black Betty while I do everything else. The only thing they do is drive while I do the dirty work.
Black Betty has seen over 40 tornadoes, intercepted 4 hurricanes, 2 of which being Category 4 Hurricane Helene in the big bend of Florida, and Category 4 Hurricane Milton after she broke down due to the turbo going out on us.
Throughout all of our chases, we've racked probably over 60,000 miles on Betty over the last 3 and a half years.
But, I want to make a few things clear with this post, as well as I want y'all to learn a few things about me.
While I may not have a meteorology degree or have as much experience in storm chasing and weather forecasting as some of the other storm chasers or meteorologists y'all get information from, I try my absolute hardest and best to provide the easiest to understand and most accurate information that I can provide.
While many other accounts try to spread misinformation, fear monger, overhype, or simply don't know what they're talking about, I avoid all of that. I'm not here for the fame or for the views (while it is nice and cool) I'm here to provide the best information that I can, either through my posts or my live streams.
With my posts, I often share information share by the National Weather Service and forecasts made by Storm Prediction Center meteorologists because they are the most reliable and credible people to receive information from. But, I also make my own forecasts and tend to share my own thoughts on social media on an event that I'm chasing and what could possibly happen. In my forecasts I don't try to create fear or overhype anything, I share my thoughts on what I think could actually happen in the region that I'm chasing, and sometimes for the event as a whole, and I want everyone to understand that I do not try to induce fear, I do not try to spread misinformation, and I do not try to overhype things.
Again, I want to thank EVERYONE, from my Facebook Followers, YouTube subscribers, Twitter Followers, and followers on all of my other social medias for the constant support and for helping get information out to people who may need it, y'all make what I do possible and I couldn't do it without y'all.
@WHSV_CodyBWx People ranting about a bust need to reevaluate what they are saying. A bust on a forecasted outbreak is a beautiful thing, no one gets impacted and life is great.
@MaxArcherWX And people can say a lot of things when they are not on your situation and they are 10 ft tall and bullet proof when they get behind their phones and start typing. Words never last
@JBrusels63353@MaxArcherWX Keyboard warrior, this child you are talking about is actually a pretty good chaser, chases a lot like his dad. I just wish I could forecast as good as he does, he is almost always on top of his game. Careful what you say
