@AtlasAtheist@MartinRobo123@pinkheretic That sounds to me like a cultural shift and the development of bodies of knowledge over time, not fundamental anatomical human behavior.
Saying the quiet part out loud. Only theists evidence counts, and even if it doesn't you have to disprove their claims.
I'll say it again for those in back.
A claim without evidence can just be dismissed, especially those that are clearly mythological in origin.
@masonmennenga@ehenningsen He claims a lot of things, many of which are unhinged from reality. "Atheists" isn't a cohesive group someone gets to represent.
@AdoptADeafCat @AtheistsAssembl @pinkheretic LOL ok then. So you take the catholic church at its word. The same organization that, today, extradites pedophiles AWAY from justice. We should take their evidence of "strange things happening" and their judgement of what to include and not.
You cannot be serious.
@AtlasAtheist@MartinRobo123@pinkheretic I don't think the history of religion and philosophy backs up that claim. We don't have enough records of the early days to suggest that, and what we do have shows similar levels of skepticism and investigation as we have today.
@AdoptADeafCat @AtheistsAssembl @pinkheretic And no, the subjective human experience and unverifiable claims of miracles are not enough, as you well know because the experiences of billions of people who aren't Christian doesn't convince you.
@AdoptADeafCat @AtheistsAssembl @pinkheretic You just asked for evidence while stating that a lack of evidence is not sufficient to disprove something.
@AdoptADeafCat @AtheistsAssembl @pinkheretic Also why are you proposing that the Christian god described in the Christian bible created everything but none of the other gods, especially those much older and whose thematic influences we can clearly see in the story you picked?
@AdoptADeafCat @AtheistsAssembl @pinkheretic You're saying that the universe being timeless and eternal doesn't make sense but God being timeless and eternal does make sense.
