@SubspaceFoundry @vikktorrrre Reality and Fantasy are two different things. I may be wrong, and that's okay. Meanwhile, I'll keep doing my best, working to support my family and trying to make a better tomorrow. Best of luck to you and yours. ✌️♥️

@aiwithadb You should try it, and then let us know how it is. 👍

@jessexai_ I don't understand why OpenAI is so obsessed with AGI. They should focus on smaller, more incremental goals, and eventually they'll get there.

[Marc M. @rustytensor]

@shariar_design Claude, for sure, will be around in 2030.

[Marc M. @rustytensor]

It's not that I am not optimistic, I am. But I also understand what it takes to get there. The AI we have is the oposite of what you see in movies: it is non-deterministic, and completely imature for automation. It
was released as a unfinished technology into the world because everyone involved with AI wanted to be first. It has a long way to go before it becomes highly capable, efficient, and truly affordable. Until then, movies and stories of abundance will have to do.

@Officially_Dev_

[Marc M. @rustytensor]

@faqdev Electrician, Plumber, Truck Driver (no, AI won't replace them), HVAC technician, pretty much any trade that cannot be automated. AI is for automation, nothing more.

Those of us who started from the bottom and worked our way up know how hard it is and what it takes. That's also why I think UBI is as stupid as claiming there won't be any money in a decade. I still work long 14-hour days. I work with AI every day, training models, coding, teaching it. And I just don't see the future with it. These things are not humanity's future as they are now.

[Marc M. @rustytensor]

@SubspaceFoundry @vikktorrrre Central NC, and we're not struggling either, we're chugging along. The problem is that from everything I've seen in my over four decades on this earth, prosperity tends to migrate upwards and never back down to the rest of us.

[Marc M. @rustytensor]

You deleted your “New Braunfels, Texas” post and quietly moved the goalposts. Your original claim was about a grocery bagger. Now you're citing a seasonal cashier and a part-time overnight stocker, neither of which guarantees stable, full-time income.

Show me that $1,000 apartment and a realistic monthly budget covering all living expenses.

And you still haven't explained how any of this supports your prediction of AI-driven abundance.

[Marc M. @rustytensor]

@SubspaceFoundry @vikktorrrre Name one city where a grocery bagger can afford a nice apartment with a gym, groceries, utilities, transportation, and healthcare. Show me the math. Cheap entertainment isn't economic abundance. And you still haven't answered how AI will make life's necessities affordable.

[Marc M. @rustytensor]

@SubspaceFoundry @vikktorrrre You need to take a good hard look at vehicle prices, housing costs, food prices, rent, pretty much everything. Then the cost of resources and where they come from. You describe the futre like Grok: "by 2076 AI will bring abundance". What the concrete plan and steps to get there?

[Marc M. @rustytensor]

@FmrRepMTG What am I voting for? Nunya. Nunya business. Politicians answer to voters, not the other way around.

[Marc M. @rustytensor]

@ImBreckWorsham A 1% reward sounds tempting until you remember what happens to whistleblowers who expose powerful people and corporations. Careers destroyed, lawsuits, retaliation, and lives turned upside down. What good is a reward if the law can't even guarantee the snitches protection?

[Marc M. @rustytensor]

@SubspaceFoundry @vikktorrrre That's a wild prediction, so I'd like to know exactly how you think we'll get there.

[Marc M. @rustytensor]

@steipete Honest take from someone who enjoys building on Pi: claws shipped faster than their security and their costs, and the rest of us paid the bill. Max plans getting locked to Claude Code is part of it. Respect the work, but I'd love to hear how you see that side.
