Together with other Heads of Mission in Kyiv, we take note with concern of the Russian MFA's threat against diplomats and foreign citizens in Ukraine.
Russia is bound by the Vienna Convention and international humanitarian law.
We stay in Kyiv.
Atgādinājums: ja neesi sociālajos medijos publicējis bildi no vēlēšanu iecirkņa — ideālā gadījumā ar skaidri redzamu aizpildīto biļetenu (khem, khem, aizklātas vēlēšanas) — Tava balss, protams, neskaitās.
Demokrātija taču nav notikusi, kamēr par to nav storija. #vēlēšanas2026
Saīsināts tirdzniecības laiks, liegta iespēja ātri iegādāties alkoholu tiešsaistē un stingrāk regulētas reklāmas. Šie ierobežojumi ir spēkā vairāk nekā gadu. Pasaules Veselības organizācijas sākotnējie dati liecina – šie soļi jau ir nesuši augļus.

@arlekiins@Teunemansvb The map is supposed to show regions/countries with majority Protestantism. Latgale is majority Catholic, so not in Red. The same for half of Germany. This could, however, been explained more clearly.
Today, in broad daylight, my colleagues at the EU Delegation in Kyiv ran to the shelter upon hearing another of more that ten air alerts today. On the way they heard a loud explosion.
A russian jet-powered drone flew right over our building and exploded close to us. Smoke was everywhere. (I was in the meantime at a meeting which was taking place underground, in a shelter.)
These drones are incredibly fast. You have seconds to react. And that high-pitched whine of the drones cuts through you like a saw.
The russian drone hit a university building just some 300 metres from the 🇪🇺 Delegation. 160 students were inside. They all survived because they were in the shelter.
The truth is simple: russia attacked a university building full of young students during daytime.
And I find what the Kremlin has been doing for years absolutely outrageous: pushing the grotesque propaganda narrative that Ukraine kills its own people.
We know the pattern.
Attack Ukraine. Kill Ukrainians. Then accuse Ukraine of killing Ukrainians.
The cynicism is breathtaking. And we will fight it with the truth.
Today, a russian drone exploded 300 metres from our Delegation. It hit the National University of Food Technologies, with 160 students inside.
And yes, my colleagues were frightened. Of course they were.
But they got up. They went back to work.
We are still here. And we will keep calling things by their names. And we will keep fighting russian propaganda.

‘Why won’t they just negotiate?’
We negotiated. Formally. Twice. Let me read you the receipts.
Budapest, 1994: Ukraine surrenders the world’s third-largest nuclear arsenal for signed security assurances. Russia signs. Russia invades.
Minsk, 2014: ceasefire signed. Violated within days.
Minsk, 2015: ceasefire signed on a Thursday. Debaltseve — a Ukrainian city — falls the following week, while the ink is still wet.
The grain deal, 2022: signed, used, discarded when convenient.
Istanbul, 2022: Russia’s own draft demanded a Ukraine disarmed to parade strength. That is not a treaty. That is a surrender schedule.
Four signatures, four violations, one pattern: Moscow treats every agreement as a reload interval — a pause to reconstitute, then resume.
So no, the problem is not that nobody tried diplomacy.
The problem is that with this Russia, a treaty is not the end of the war.
It is the war, continued on paper.
“No Jews allowed.” Anti-Semitic scandal in Germany
An elderly Israeli couple tried to book a room at a hotel in Bavaria.
According to Bild, they received a shocking reply: “Sorry, Jews are not allowed in our hotel.”
The couple contacted the Israeli Consulate General in Munich. After an investigation, Booking removed the hotel from its platform.
The Israeli consul general called the situation shocking and compared it to practices of the 1930s.
Later, hotel representatives apologized, claiming they had been targeted by fake bookings and attacks. They also said they are now receiving threats.
The Munich prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation on suspicion of incitement to hatred. The tourists were offered free accommodation in another hotel.
