It’s worth pointing out, of course, that trans people’s protections against discrimination under the Equality Act are completely unaffected by this judgement.
Human rights, in this case, aren’t cake - a win for women isn’t a loss for trans people.
This morning, the UK Supreme Court handed down its judgment in the case of For Women Scotland Ltd against The Scottish Ministers. Axiom members appeared for two of the parties.

We are delighted that @ForWomenScot has been successful in its appeal to the Supreme Court, and that the position of the Scottish Government has been rejected.
The court has given the right answer: the protected characteristic of sex – male and female – refers to reality, not paperwork.

Over the last 2 years, our members have been fighting @Edinburgh_CC to prevent their workplaces from being shut down under a nil-cap.
Today the council voted to keep the current cap of 3 in place, with an option for a worker run club to open.
