Dr @T_Ndabamenye, Rwanda’s Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources, will join leaders from across the continent at #AFSForum2026 in Kigali.
@RwandaAgri is helping turn investment into stronger food security, better jobs, and more resilient farming. Its work spans climate-smart agriculture, market access, agricultural finance, private sector investment, and new opportunities for young people and women.
Dr Ndabamenye brings more than 25 years of experience in agriculture and food systems. He has led Rwanda’s Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board and held senior roles across crop production, food security, mechanisation, and sector reform.
As host-country minister, he will bring Rwanda’s practical experience of building a more productive and resilient agricultural sector to the Forum.

Rwanda and the European Union have signed a EUR 40 million (approx. Frw 67 billion) Financing Agreement to support the transformation of Rwanda’s agriculture sector into a modern, inclusive, and climate-resilient sector.
Through the "HANGARIBIHE" Programme, the partnership will strengthen climate-smart agriculture, sustainable land management, irrigation, and climate resilience.
The move reflects Rwanda’s continued efforts to advance sustainable development, strengthen climate resilience, and drive inclusive growth.

Speaking at the Official Closing Ceremony of #RwandaAgriShow2026, Hon. Minister @T_Ndabamenye emphasized that the Rwanda Agricultural Show is a unique platform that brings together practical solutions to challenges facing the agriculture and livestock sector, accelerates the adoption of technologies and innovations, and strengthens collaboration among stakeholders.
He urged farmers, livestock keepers, and all stakeholders to put into practice the knowledge and skills gained during the exhibition, noting that its true impact will be measured by increased productivity and accelerated agricultural transformation.

During the Official Closing Ceremony of the 19th Rwanda Agricultural Show, all exhibitors were awarded certificates of participation in recognition of their contribution to advancing Rwanda's agriculture and agri-food systems.
Outstanding exhibitors, innovators, and organizations were also recognized for excellence, innovation, impact, product quality, and their contribution to agricultural transformation and sustainable agri-food systems development.
In special recognition of youth and women championing agricultural transformation through innovation, a total of RWF 22 million in cash prizes was awarded. Winners in each category received RWF 5 million, RWF 4 million, and RWF 2 million to support the growth of their businesses, scale up their innovations, and inspire the next generation of agricultural entrepreneurs.

Today, Hon. Minister of State @solangeuwituze held a courtesy meeting with H.E. Olivia Charlotte Owen, High Commissioner of New Zealand to Rwanda. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in agriculture, including aligning New Zealand-supported initiatives with Rwanda’s Food Basket Sites (FoBaSi) to accelerate agricultural transformation. They also explored opportunities to advance the dairy subsector and expand capacity building through the Government of New Zealand’s short-course scholarship programme for Rwandans.
