Today, we welcomed the Director General of Meteo Rwanda @AimableGahigi to our office, where he joined our CEO @TeddyMugabo_ to formalise the handover of three automatic weather stations installed through @GreenGicumbi Project.

These stations collect local weather and soil data to help inform climate monitoring and agricultural planning. With @MeteoRwanda taking responsibility for their management and maintenance, this investment will continue to support the communities it was established to serve.

Through @GreenFundRw’s Green Gicumbi project, beekeeping cooperatives have grown into honey businesses, and families who once lived in high-risk zones now have safe homes in a green model village.

Today, our Resident Rep @FatmataLSesay joined CEO @TeddyMugabo_ of @GreenFundRw and @Gicumbi_Rwanda Vice Mayor for Economic Development, Uwera Parfaite, to see these results firsthand.

When land restoration, safer housing, clean energy and livelihoods are planned together, climate action becomes sustainable development. #GreenGicumbi shows what integrated approaches can deliver.

Since the signing of the Host Country Agreement in 2016, GGGI has worked alongside @RwandaGov and our partners to turn the country's green growth ambitions into action.

But what does #10YearsOfPartnership look like in practice?

Our collaboration has translated a shared vision for green growth into tangible results in advancing sustainable and innovative finance, green cities and infrastructure, just and inclusive energy transitions, sustainable landscapes and agrifood systems, while ensuring that no one is left behind.

Our sincere gratitude to the Government of Rwanda and all our partners for their trust, collaboration and shared commitment to this journey.

The Carbon Markets Africa Summit concluded today at the Kigali Convention Centre, with William Mugabo (@MugaboWilliam4), Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Environment, officiating at the closing ceremony.

The Summit provided a platform for meaningful discussions, new partnerships and practical solutions to unlock climate finance and accelerate the growth of carbon markets across Africa.
