Today, the YouthConnekt Mano River Union Forum kicked off in Free Town, Sierra Leone convening young leaders, policymakers, development partners, entrepreneurs, and innovators from across the Mano River Union region.

The forum is bringing together participants from Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, and Côte d’Ivoire to explore pathways for youth-led development, economic transformation, and regional integration. Through high-level dialogues, knowledge-sharing sessions, entrepreneurial showcases, and collaborative discussions, the forum aims to strengthen opportunities for young people while promoting sustainable growth and cooperation across the region.

As one of the key milestones on the road to the YouthConnekt Africa Summit 2026, the MRU Forum is providing a platform for regional priorities and youth-driven solutions to contribute to the broader continental agenda, ensuring that the voices of young people continue to shape Africa's future.

Last night, the YouthConnekt Africa, together with the Government of Rwanda, UNDP, and the African Union, officially launched the journey to the 2026 YouthConnekt Africa Summit.

The event brought together partners, leaders, and key stakeholders for the unveiling of the Summit’s official theme, “Shaping the Generational Mission,” and its dates— 25th to 27th November 2026.

The evening also marked the signing of the Host Country Agreement, reaffirming Rwanda as the proud Host.
