I'm an epidemiologist (#epitwitter) at the UMN SPH. I like rabbits. I like iced tea. I also like plots that involve time travel. Also: @[email protected]
Could the ~3 interesting accounts/people that are still only posting here PLEASE move over to Bluesky? I miss you and it's really annoying to have to log into this thing to see what's up with you. 😃
It’s been an honor to serve as a voting member of ACIP. I’m so grateful to the extraordinary CDC staff who partnered with us on our work. And to Melinda Wharton, the ACIP Secretary who I’ve long looked up to as a public health leader.
@noelTbrewer I miss seeing your Tweets! I try to remember to come over to Twitter like once a month to check up on the ~3 people that are still here who I like, but it's hard to remember to do that. Please come over to Bluesky? To make my life easier? 🤣
On #academictwitter people refer to a #HiddenCurriculum of informally acquired knowledge about how our world works that not everyone has equal access too.
I want to do some unhiding of this, in a few threads over the next few weeks...
Today = letters of recommendation! 1/n
Are you thinking about applying for a MPH (Master of Public Health) degree program this year? I direct the MPH in epidemiology program at @PublicHealthUMN, and in today's unhiding of the #hiddencurriculum thread, I'll share my tips on how to put together a strong application.
I wrote a piece in the Minnesota Reformer about how the Trump Administration is wrecking the future of biomedical and public health research by trashing diversity programs and freezing scientific advisory meetings:

Please, for me, at least cross post on Bluesky. It's just one more thing for me to do to remember to stop by here occasionally to see what the 3 interesting people who are still exclusively posting here might have said.🤣
You don't have to leave Twitter but could you please also start posting on BlueSky so I can reduce the amount of things I need to check? For me, please?

The internet is increasingly full of bad data analyses and fake science. If you want to avoid getting sucked in by nonsense, then it's a good idea to learn how science is supposed to work.
Lucky for you, Epidemiology An Introduction is here to help!

It's November 5th, 2024. Thousands of men look at their shoe closet, realizing they threw out their dress sneakers bc of my tweets. They only have uncomfortable dress shoes and decide not to walk to the polls. Kamala Harris wins. We now have communism.
