We have a client who has had a fake DMCA request submitted and @Google has TAKEN DOWN their page as a result of it. Ranked #1 for big terms for many years.

Their content copied and pasted, internal links included, onto a spammy throwaway domain. Site it’s posted on only 6 weeks old.

They’ve submitted DMCA saying our client (their page has been live many many years on same URL) has stolen their content.

And Google has taken down their page. My guess is negative SEO - a competitor has done this knowing the result will get removed.

The 10 day timeframe is crazy when the business is losing thousands a day from this.

Site has never been in any black hat or spammy tactics, ever. Clean site, amazing history and huge growth in recent updates.

@JohnMu @methode @searchliaison - is there anything that can be done besides waiting out the counter we’ve put in? Anyone else got any tips?

100% confident that a human reviewing this would take 10 seconds to realise it’s fraudulent.
