El Salvador starts June 5, and here are my fantasy value picks. A lot of Brazilian love on the men's side, and start watching out for Tya Zebrowski on the women's side, especially in the back half of the year. She's putting up solid heat scores. #WSL#FantasySurfing
Here are my value picks for Saquarema. Don't overthink it with Gabriel, Yago, Molly, and Carissa. Just set them in your lineup and don't look back. With others and unpredictable conditions, I'm going with experience and talent; Tyler, Bettylou, Joao, Jack, and Tatiana fit that.
Congratulations to @DrewDavenportFF on grabbing his second straight win at @wsl Championship Tour Stop #4 in New Zealand in the Auction Brief Fantasy Surfing League.
Drew took down the Corona Cero New Zealand Pro at the pretty left-handed Raglan point break by rostering both champions despite a poor showing once again from his double-points surfers.
New mom Carissa Moore proved she's fully back as she posted monster heat after monster heat while fending off a red-hot Sawyer Linblad in the finals by cracking a 9.4 and a total heat score of almost 18 points.
Former world champion Italo Ferreira has flown under the radar through three events, but proved he's a contender yet again by taking apart a wave that the tour goofys have been lobbying to include for years - a left-hander built for performance and not barrels. Ferreira punished the Raglan waves by laying out aerial after aerial in an impressive performance that has him sporting the leader's yellow jersey heading into CT Event #5.
As for the Auction Brief Fantasy Surfing League, @ryan_baas and @DrewDavenportFF have each won 2 events in the first 4 chances this year, but Ryan holds the edge in the overall standings.
We now head to stop number five by coming back to the northern hemisphere at the Surf City El Salvador Pro in La Libertad. Punta Roca offers us another high-performance point break, but this time we switch back to the right, with a wave that sometimes models the famed J-Bay in South Africa.
Get those lineups set, the window at Punta Roca opens in roughly 40 hours. Yewwwwwww!!! π€π€π€
Congratulations to @ryan_baas and @DrewDavenportFF on securing the wins for the last two events of the Auction Brief Fantasy Surfing League.
Event #2 on the @wsl Championship Tour was the second leg of the Australian Treble as the best surfers in the world stopped in West Oz at the Western Australia Margaret River Pro. The surfers saw some excellent waves (chaotic, but big) and Ryan got his second win in a row behind Aussie George Pittar who was chaired up the beach as the winner against stiff competition from the Brazilian Storm. Nice job, Ryan!
Event #3 on the @wsl CT was the final stop down under as they made their way to the Bonsoy Gold Coast Pro. Drew secured the win by rostering both champions - Ethan Ewing and Steph Gilmore - despite poor production from his double point "lightning" surfers.
This leaves Ryan with a commanding lead in the overall standings, with Drew trailing in 2nd, and @PArthurs01 not far behind in 3rd. We have a lot of points still left to give out so we are just getting started.
We now turn our attention to the Corona Cero New Zealand Pro on the black sands of Raglan where the high performance waves give way to barrels at low tide.
The waves have been firing before the window opened, and the event is expected to get under way soon as the official window opens in just 15 minutes!
See you next time from El Salvador!
Raglan is a left-hand point break, and the event starts in one week! These are my top fantasy picks based on their historical dominance of left-hand point breaks.
Who do you think will advance deep into this event?
#fantasysurfing#wsl
#WSL Gold Coast starts in under 48 hours. Most important thing for fantasy is that surfers with a bye into Rd 2 automatically get highest total from Rd 1. Alan, Caroline, and Bettylou are the only ones in their Tier who get a bye, so put them in your lineup!
Conditions today at Margaret River are 8-12 ft waves and offshore winds. If you're looking for last minute fantasy lineup tweaks, surfers who excel in those conditions include Italo Ferreira, Alan Cleland, Ethan Ewing, Vahine Fierro, Brisa Hennessey, and Erin Brooks.
The Auction Brief Fantasy Surfing League is back! Congratulations to @ryan_baas on taking home the win for Event #1 on the World Surf League Championship Tour. The Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach is the oldest surfing competition on the tour and kicks off the first of three events in the Australian Treble of Bells, Margaret River, and the Gold Coast.
Ryan crushed the field with a 70 point win to start things off behind the astute selections of Gabriela Bryan and Molly Picklum on the women's side of the bracket. When those two made a run to the finals Ryan never looked back and starts the season where he left off - in First Place. Congrats Ryan!
We now turn our sights to Margaret River, a right-hand point break that can turn on swell in excess of 20 feet when firing. Notoriously, Margie's also features The Box, a gnarly off-shore barrel that emphasizes tube riding versus high-performance railwork. With former champions Gabriel Medina and Carissa Moore back in the fold it's time to get stoked for another great event!
Get those lineups set as the Western Australia Margaret River Pro window opens in just 26 hours! πββοΈπββοΈπ€π€
Wave Selection Accuracy = Good Scores (6.00+) / Total Waves Caught as a percentage. Basically, how often the waves they surf are turning into valuable scores for fantasy. See above for this year's Margaret River value picks! #fantasysurfing#WSL
On the Women's side, there are 8 Tier A surfers. 7 of them have a bye into Rd 2. The only Tier B to get a bye into Rd 2 is Caroline Marks. Take advantage of getting 3 surfers with the bye into your fantasy lineup by adding Marks.
With your 6 picks (men and women), pick at least one surfer from each "quadrant" of the bracket to give yourself max potential for points.
Also pick surfers who have a bye to Rd 2, as they're guaranteed the top fantasy total from Rd 1, plus the chance for pts in Rd 2.
3/fin
Margaret River starts in under 48 hours; because it's an A-Frame that provides rights and lefts, along with turns and barrels opportunities, it's a tricky one to predict based on data. Plus the short turnaround after Bells could yield some unexpected results. #fantasysurfing

There will be upsets, it's just a matter of picking the right ones. Since we know the bracket ahead of time with the new format, I suggest picking your champ and work backwards from there to fill out your bracket and choose your fantasy surfers.

Men, Tier B
Gabriel Medina π§π· Coming back from a year off tour, this may be his only event in Tier B. Excels in AHS for Bell's conditions
George Pittar π¦πΊ Young talent with a 12.74 AHS on rights since '23. Has to face Ewing 1st but has a good path if he can pull the upset
