He struggled badly playing out of position but fair play for this moment of quality...how did he even see that pass, i had no idea where Engels came from and im looking down from top tier. Sensational pass 🔥
@jhnmcgnly If they do their job properly and show ambition / good recruitment etc the fans wouldnt be raging atm.
Its a role that shouldnt hurt but doesnt resolve anything until the board get the running of the club & team in order.
@lionsroar67 See if you are in a crisis and your mate comes to help you out the situation, it is difficult to then say to your mate "appreciate the help but you are doing it the wrong way".
Some fans are acting like MoN has been appointed on a 3yr deal and is the proper manager.
@jucojames@threadreaderapp Barely better than Critchely is where it is harsh. Critchely got 52pts and finished in bottom 6.
McInnes is likely going to finish high 70s (+20pt gain).
I cant remember the last time hearts finished with 70+ pts, hardly did it in my lifetime.
He deserves credit for that.
@jucojames@threadreaderapp Do you not think this is harsh on McInnes? Its not like hes got a brand new 25 man squad from JA.
He's taken guys like Halkett, Milne, Devlin, Banigme, Findlay, Shankland etc and got them challenging for the league.
@20MinuteTims MoN is simply trying to keep a sinking ship afloat during a crisis.
He is a pragmatic manager who relies on good players who he then organises & motivates.
But we have the worst squad in my lifetime.
Why i find it hard to criticise MoN too much.
@20MinuteTims Listened to it, do you not think expecting MoN to play free flowing fitba is like appointing Steve Clarke in the summer & asking where is the good fitba?
MoN is an interim who isnt meant to be in the job. Nancy was meant to bring the style of play etc but that was abandoned.
@lionsroar67@celtic_thoughts He was brought in to get results, and if you combine the two spells he has a 72% win rate.
Its no MoN's fault we are in this position, and if the season ends in failure its not his fault either.
@lionsroar67@celtic_thoughts MoN isnt a style of play type of manager. It would be like appointing Steve Clarke in the summer then saying 'where's the free-flowing fitba?"
We arent meant to be watching a MoN team, should be Nancy but that was abandoned.
So MoN trying his best with a pish team, in a crisis
@daerBemaG@lionsroar67@celtic_thoughts Yeah the quality of squad is shocking but no celtic manager survives 6 defeats in 8.
Maybe it couldve worked if appointed with a pre-season.
@lionsroar67@celtic_thoughts Because MoN was brought in to fire-fight and to stop a sinking ship from going under.
Nancy was the guy to bring style/vision/philosophy and it turned out to be a disaster and had to be sacked.
The amount of fans that dont get this is amazing to me.
