The finding aid for the Pauline Oliveros collection is published! Oliveros was an avant-garde composer born in 1932. She studied music at the University of Houston (1949-1952) and San Francisco State College (1954-1956) and was a pioneer in electronic music.
Henahan liked it; audiences did too, per a company memo from 1972: "The Company has received the ultimate accolade: FAUST COUNTER FAUST and MOTHER OF US ALL were pirated from the Hunter College performances and are being sold at $25 per show in New York's recording black market."
