BREAKING: Judge President John Hlophe becomes the first judge in South African history to be impeached and removed from office, after being found guilty of trying to sway two Constitutional Court justices to rule in favour of then ANC President Zuma. He loses his salary for life.
Since 2020, government has allocated R325billion in bailouts to failing state-owned entities. None of these SOEs bailed out have plausibly improved services, become sustainable or convincingly tackled governance failures, incompetence and corruption.

This is killing the sport. Good job guys! Good job…
It’s about time lawyers who engage in vexatious litigation and abuse of the legal system thus overburdening the court system are mulcted with punitive costs in their personal capacity.
@Richard_Spoor@geordinhl According to the mayor, a single phase device to feed back into the grid will cost around R5k and here is also a monthly fee for the helping with load shedding of R212,75 ( incl. VAT ). Not much of an incentive to help.
@sidlowe@Fernando_Duarte @RobinStacey18 True, there are unrelated actions e.g. some sh%&house tackles. Getting red carded has no advantage. Most players appeal for decisions to go their way, like throw ins or going down with the slightest touch. Pity that Neymar just goes that step too far and makes it unpalatable.
@Fernando_Duarte@sidlowe @RobinStacey18 If the cheating doesn't lead to goals then why persist and draw wrath from fans? Ronaldo (original, 1st or fat edition) never displayed any of Neymar's antics
Everytime my lights go off, I remember that electricity blackouts began in 2008. Then President, Mbeki apologized for not acting on Eskom's warnings about impending power shortages. It's astounding that this government has failed (for whatever reason) to solve a 12 year problem
Coal trucks queuing to deliver coal to Majuba. Like other @Eskom_SA power stations should be supplied cheaply via conveyor belts from adjacent coal mine. @chrisyelland documents disastrous project management failures @dailymaverick
