Trump LOST: the presidency, the House, the Senate, the trust of American voters, the belief in free and fair elections, the credibility of the Republican Party, the admiration of our allies, the fear of our enemies. What exactly are Republicans defending?
At this late a stage, resignations help little beyond serving as late attempts at self-preservation.
If Sec. Chao objects to yesterday’s events this deeply, she should be working the Cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment - not abdicating the seat that allows her to do so.
Pardon the language here, but I asked a House Democrat who is locked in his office whether Congress will reconvene tonight and finish its business. He replied:
“Yep. We’re going back. Fuck these assholes.”
.@JoeBiden: “The scenes of chaos at the Capitol do not reflect a true America, do not represent who we are. What we’re seeing is a small number of extremists dedicated to lawlessness. This is not dissent, it’s disorder, it’s chaos, it borders on sedition, and it must end now.”
The refusal of Republican leaders to acknowledge the results of the presidential election is not just an attack on Biden. It is an attack on American democracy, and shows the degree to which the Republican party is moving toward authoritarianism.
Genuine question for the media / law enforcement: why are you calling these armed neo-nazi groups breaking the law “militias” instead of “gangs” or “domestic terrorist groups?”
Scary fact: a former reality TV star and pageant judge will make 3 lifetime appointments to the #SupremeCourt. Let that sink in for a minute. #VoteHimOut2020
