“Although feminism has made it fashionable to despise male attention, women can’t help but secretly desire it. A lack of attention is a death sentence. Most women would rather be sexually harassed than ignored.
In every complaint about male sexual attention lies a (not-so) secret brag. With the mainstreaming of feminist discourses, this is the primary way women can brag about their desirability.
Explicitly admitting a desire for male attention is the greatest taboo. The only thing worse than male attention, is no male attention at all.”

this is genuine psychopathy
“hey ayatollah i know i murdered most of your close family but we’re getting on pretty good why don’t you pull up to tel aviv for a cocktail?”
“hello?”
you guys remember the long form debates on forums? i feel like things were so much more fun back then - when you had to actually be patient and develop your position over time
im grateful for x and there’s all kinds of ppl i enjoy following but as far as debates go and just discourse in general, everything is just aggressive and petulant, me included im not immune
clickbait, ragebait, ad hominem are the main ingredients at this point, and it’s obvious that drama captures audiences so i guess we have no one to blame but ourselves
so here’s my idea:
what about a weekly space on here that takes the form of a socratic club? one presentation per week, and then the following week someone can present a rebuttal..
questions allowed at the end of each presentation
would anyone like to present? sound interesting?
i want to give people the chance to present their position in full without interruptions, without drama and whining etc etc and also give the audience a chance to interrogate the idea at the end of the presentation
idk i think it might me worthwhile
lmk if there’s any interest if be happy to host
i didn’t even look at who it was
the presuppositions of protestant exegesis make it difficult to have a discussion in good faith because their interpretation of any one passage is already so far downstream from them it’s like a big knot of arbitrary positions and mental gymnastics
i wouldn’t have started the engagement if i knew it was that lady, i don’t have the energy
1. I don't think about Mary
2. I don't pray to Mary
3. I don't venerate Mary
4. Mary didn't die for me
5. I have ZERO emotional or spiritual ties to Mary
6. Mary is NOT your Mother or my Mother.
I LOVE JESUS. THAT IS ALL.
