Well deserved. Vance is usually a man of few words during interviews. My impression is his No. 1 goal HAS ALWAYS been for the kids in his program to be their best. If he had to coach them on old mattresses in his backyard he'd do it with the same dedication. He's a Hall of Famer!
"Mom! Is my uniform clean?"
"Heidi, what's for supper?"
"Mom, my throat hurts."
"Heidi, where the hell are the pliers?"
"Grandma, will you play with me?"
HappyBirthday to the best launderer, cook, nurse, detective, & nurturer on the planet... @HeidiSueRyan!
Love ❤️, Dave & Fam
My mom @shirleymike5813 & her sister Bev delivered a chair honoring the late great Big Mike Ryan to Paradise Grille in Pass-A-Grille, Florida today. He liked it there. Thanks, Mom.
Just like @MV_Wrestling days, Pauly the Hammer leading with the right hand on @northerniowa President Nook. UNI legacy grad with grandparents Mike ('69) & Shirley ('69) and parents Dave ('89) & Heidi ('92). #accounting#finance#denverbound
This guy did some damage on the mat and on the record book!
@5Hankryan finishes his career T-8th on the all time wins list with 125 and 4th with 76 Career Falls.
More than wins & pins Henry was an unbelievable competitor and a great leader for our team!
Henry Ryan gives Mount Vernon a third title. He tallied five takedowns in a dominant performance. Ryan dropped Williamsburg's Conner Parker, 12-3, in the 170 final.
One of these guys was named first team all-state twice in football and is his HS's all-time leading scorer, ran on a state championship relay team in track, was an all-conference pitcher in baseball, and...wait for it...wrestled in the @IHSAA Iowa State Wrestling Tournament.
We go back to the gridiron for our #2 Play of the Year.
Henry Ryan bulldozes his way through the Central Dewitt defense, on his way to a touchdown. Ryan was a major glue guy in the @MustangFB1 run to the State title game.
Big Mike Ryan was an exceedingly kind man that could make a friend anywhere. He loved Mom and he played catch daily with my brother and I. We should all be this good. He was 78.
Henry Ryan before and after Mount Vernon's 30-23 loss today. Notice the blood on the jersey.
What a performance from the guy who was told he'd play quarterback five days ago. Gave it all.
Our play of the week was a no-brainer.
Henry Ryan (@5Hankryan) sends a Central Dewitt defender all the way back to Mount Doom on his way to a @MustangFB1 touchdown. https://t.co/aWhHua4BrY
