5 years of work for @SociusJournal ended today with one last accepted manuscript. I am extraordinarily thankful for getting to engage such tremendous social science during this time and for the authors and reviewers who allowed Socius to thrive.
Excited to learn that my son, Henry, was nominated for the local boys athlete of the week by his coach for scoring a goal in each of his first three high school soccer games! You can vote here if you wanna 😀: https://t.co/e6kci1h6JC
@hardsci Congrats Sanjay! This is a major loss to the University of Oregon. Your work here has been incredibly valuable to me personally and to this place generally. I look forward to hearing about your adventures in your new position!
Very excited that this article is now available in @ReadDemography as an advance pub. In a brief thread, I want to highlight some of the main findings.
Something seemed fishy about the @washingtonpost article on college majors and "regret." @WeedenKim describes why the story is more complicated in a 🧵on data, interpretation/biases, that is worth checking out.
@mades_78 I used Mean Girls extensively in my undergrad networks class. We made a dynamic conversation network from the script & they had a problem set on power, plot, etc. I think only 2/30 hadn’t seen it and most were very familiar. I, on the other hand, still haven’t watched. 😂

@VincentRoscigno @SouthSocSociety That’s how I remember it…ultimately as an insight into pretense! This what really makes the connection to the Oz video so funny. His use of the term is so organic. Lol.
This reminds me of @VincentRoscigno’s amazing @SouthSocSociety presidential talk. One of the few times I’ve heard the word “crudités” spoken out loud. 😂
