I will never, ever, ever stop watching this…
46 year drought is over. USA hockey wins gold. Jack Hughes the hero. Connor Hellebuyck the hero. This will live in US hockey history forever & ever.
Words cannot express how happy I am 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Team USA captain Auston Matthews on what he told the team during the pre-OT intermission:
“They’re telling us we’re bad people because of our government or whatever…that isn’t us at all. Their last prime minister did blackface, divorced his wife, and then started banging Katy Perry…who can’t sell tickets to her shows anymore. Their biggest star [Drake] is a certified pedophile. So you tell me who’s in worse shape. Let’s go out there and remind them who we really are.”
Let's be honest.
Canada didn't lose because of OT being 3 on 3.
Canada lost, in large part, to the best of their best - Makar, MacKinnon - failing at the biggest moments.
Makar and Toews let Matt Boldy go on an afternoon stroll in the park right past them, below.
MacKinnon flubbed a shot on a gaping net.
Makar gambles on the pinch in OT.
And I'm still not sure went MacKinnon thought he was doing on Werenski.
Then MacKinnon has the audacity to whine in his postgame comments.
Shameful stuff from MacKinnon.
And a very underwhelming performance by Makar in the tournament.
Thank you.
Nathan MacKinnon, number 29.
He blatantly dove to draw a penalty for Finland in the semifinal, with the help of a Canadian referee. During the penalty he shot the winning goal and Canada went to the finals.
In the third period of the today’s final against USA, he shot wide on an empty net.
In overtime, he turned the puck over to the USA, which led to the game-winning goal.
Justice prevailed.
