Looking for some great apps or tech that can help with expanding my Professional Learning network. Connecting with others is how we learn best, especially in education. #tch410#mathed#teacher#education
Being a great and successful teacher requires thoughtful planning to engage students in meaningful tasks that guide them towards learning targets. To do this teachers must get to know their students, set high goals, and constantly reflect on their teaching. #TCH401#401reflection
@rickwormeli2 What is the most important thing to keep in mind when switching from traditional letter grades to standards based grading? How does this affect assessment creation?
To expand my PLN this week I decided to generate a playlist of videos based on “assessment”. Feel free to add any videos that expand on the idea of assessment practices. https://t.co/ex6997ppWz #tch401
Teaching is like coaching. A good coach does not let a play in the past effect the overall outcome of the game, they instead focus on the remainder of the game. Teaching should be doing the same to encourage learning instead of dwelling on mistakes. #feedforward#tch401
When thinking about the term “curating” as an educator it is important to understand to use only the BEST tools. As a math teacher, there are several ways to solve the same problem, but having students choose the BEST and most EFFICIENT way shows curation. #TCH401#DigitalEquity
If goal setting is important for adults, then why shouldn’t it be important for students? Setting goals is an amazing way to keep people driven and motivated. Let’s start implementing this concept to our youth. #TCH401#ISTEStandards https://t.co/zPzYxAjRpH
Here’s some ways I’ve expanded my PLC last week keeping my subject area of math in mind. Joined “Middle School Math Teachers” and “6th grade math teachers” on FB. Subscribed to “math ed podcast”, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Looking forward to expanding further! #TCH401
When thinking about collaborating within a community, I agree with the idea of having students explore ideas through an educational journey giving them meaning to what they are learning. I will keep this in mind in future lesson planning. #tch401#radicalcollaboration
I accepted a job at an IB school teaching 6th grade math!! I have a lot of freedom with order and pacing so suggestions and advice for order/pacing are welcome! I’ll definitely be doing number talks.
After listening to some math ed podcasts, which I highly recommend listening to, it has become apparent that I need to do a better job with allowing students to communicate amongst one another about mathematical problems/concepts.

“We know the powers of words and actions” is a great lesson idea to allow students to set their own safety boundaries online and debunk the myth of what an “online predator” looks like. #digitalcitizenship#TCH401
Being a connected educator is exactly what it sounds like, being connected. Being connected with the outside word as well as being connected with students, and colleagues all working together, rather than direct instruction. #tch401#connectededucator
Hi, my name is Ryan and I am looking to gain a better understanding of how to incorporate technology in my 6th grade classroom in an effective manner. The main goal is how to use technology in a more meaningful way. #tch401#tch401introductions
