@garrytan I got this message on two different ideas I’ve been kicking around. Do your analytics tell you how often this message is delivered? I just assumed it was shown to everyone.
I've kept this XKCD comic on my office cork board for years -- the one that tells you how long you can spend automating a routine task before it’s no longer worth your time.
LLMs move the curve for trivial desktop automations: the break-even point drops so low that one could justify automating almost anything. Even, hypothetically, for a savings of 1 second once a month. /end/
macOS Tahoe shipped with an AI chat pane in Xcode, but Script Editor is still . . . Script Editor.
Meanwhile, ChatGPT 5.1 with heavy thinking will one-shot most of my desktop automation user stories using AppleScript. /1/
Perhaps there's a lane here for third parties. Script Debugger with a baked-in AI copilot could emerge from its otherwise well-earned retirement to reinvent the category. @latenightsw ;) /6/
@mnolangray DC in Minority Report. Spielberg’s “futurist” consultants advised the art team that the downtown would likely never be up-zoned, and all the futuristic density should be on the other side of the Potomac.
@mattcassinelli I activate on my NYC subway commute. With my @AmazonKindle on the hotspot, I’m able to sync book highlights and notes to the cloud throughout my commute. When I get to my desk, I sync those highlights to @logseq using @readwise.
@_DavidSmith@imyke Thanks for keeping it going as long as you did! Can you recommend an alternative? I’d be curious to know what you’ll be migrating to for your personal feed.
@OvercastFM Love the Recents tab in CarPlay. Are there any plans to bring that functionality to iOS? It would really help if I could keep a list of episodes I haven’t finished.
