Despite interest from clubs higher in the pyramid, goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne has committed to Alfreton Town for the remainder of the season.
Harry has been in excellent form since joining, and we’re delighted to keep him as a key part of the squad.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Billy Heath as the club’s new First Team Manager.
Billy arrives with an outstanding pedigree across non-league football, having enjoyed success at several clubs including Alfreton Town and Halifax Town. His most notable spell came at North Ferriby, where he guided the Villagers to promotion to the National League and lifted the FA Trophy at Wembley.
A familiar face to the Ashby Avenue faithful, Billy also represented Lincoln United as a centre-back during the 1990s, making this appointment not only one of quality, but one that brings a former White back home.
Director of Football, Dave Frecklington, expressed his enthusiasm about the appointment:
“When we earned promotion from Step 5, we were determined not to simply make up the numbers. Whilst nothing is guaranteed in football, we wanted a manager who will challenge our goals and push our potential. Recruitment, standards and drive must match the commitment shown by our volunteers, supporters and board. We want everyone to know we are serious about competing at the top end of this league.”
“As a club, our recent trajectory has already been phenomenal: multiple cup finals, promotions, Wembley trails, record attendances, and hundreds of new supporters buying into what we are building. We want Lincoln to have a non-league club that reflects the ambition of our professional neighbours and a city that thrives on football. Without ambition, drive and hard work - what’s the point? So enjoy the ride, and welcome Billy!”
Club Chair, Stuart Reddington, added:
“Billy’s appointment marks a significant moment for Lincoln United. As a board, we knew we needed a manager with proven quality, leadership, and a consistent record of building successful teams, and Billy brings all of that in abundance.”
“His achievements across non-league football speak volumes, but just as importantly, he understands what it means to represent this club. Having worn the shirt himself, he knows the values, expectations and community that define Lincoln United.”
“We are ambitious, and we make no apology for it. Our supporters, volunteers and players deserve a club that strives for the highest standards both on and off the pitch. Appointing Billy is a statement of intent; a commitment to keep improving, keep progressing and keep moving this club forward.”
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome him back to Ashby Avenue, and I’m confident he will play a major role in shaping the next chapter of our journey.”
Director of Football, Dave Frecklington, will continue to lead the team from the dugout for tomorrow’s trip to North Ferriby. Billy will officially begin his duties next week, joined by his Assistant Manager, Mark Carroll.
