@Shpigford When I saw the original I thought worst case 20 min a logo to make each from scratch, so $15/hr, a total grind, likely need a team of low cost labor to finish it timely. Whereas, he saw it and thought - best case 30 sec a logo; YES, I should do this! 🙃 and LOL scope creep 😂
@ngbede_@Shpigford My bet is the contracted designer outsourced it and is now being held ransom from that other designer??
Can’t see what other scenario makes sense; not like he was trying to extort you for more money, just kicking the can down the road to buy time.
@ngbede_@Shpigford Right, just Google in quotes part of what was posted on the web claiming work he did and you can hit some Dribbble pages still indexed but removed. Overall what a weird situation. Good luck with the legal route Josh
@thejeremyredman The worst dark pattern I’ve seen recently is Google workspace sign up. They advertise cheap prices but when you’re on CC page you can only sign up for a higher plan, free for a week(ish), you then need to go downgrade it to a lower plan prior to your free week being up-Tricksters
@joshmanders It’s rare there is anything to poke around at without trying to engage with setup and usage in most apps. Your specific buying habits might be better aligned with watching a demo video and then signing up for a trial when you can commit to trying it?
@joshmanders In business I just let that thing rip. But, maybe instead of trying to figure out when to start it… after 12 days “you” evaluate how many things they tried and hook them up with by Auto extending it. But if product solves problems, a month $$$ seems worth spending.
@joshmanders If after 14 days they don’t have the money to pay for a month to continue to evaluate your product they likely don’t have the budget to actually be a subscriber. After paying for a month they should still be able to upgrade to an annual plan anytime. 🤷🏻♂️
@farhanahmad Agreed, wireless charging only works bedside over night. My car has wireless but it can barely keep up with keeping the battery same level when music over Bluetooth is happening.
@donnfelker@joradig@Shpigford Yep. I’ve been doing this forever, before they had a fun name for it. ;)
Pretty much drink coffee until noon, then can eat about anything for lunch / dinner and have calories in range.
@Shpigford@nerdburn My only DIY mud tip is to not rush it. Do a thin layer let it dry, next day sand clean it up, another thin layer… pros can rip through it, I cannot.
But found going slow route it ends up fine in the end.
@jeffblankenburg I don’t care for the anonymous web.
If you’re afraid, embarrassed, don’t want your actions coming back at you for what day or do - don’t do it.
Simple as that.
@JakePechtel Word. I’m not sure how all these tech companies are now only valued at a fraction of what they were … same companies, posting similar rev projections… 🤷🏻♂️ and “fed rate increases” is bullshit. We were wallstreet pumped and dumped.
@TonyUphoff B2B payments is ridiculously painful.
Some companies can send ACH, but won’t key in their ach into your system.
Some vendors have email address for AP but you get no receipt if it was received or status… and omg Ariba is a nightmare as a vendor.
@raygao@kimpastro@largo “cooler” is every single month something new comes out. If you chase cool and young you’ll always be chasing.
For rapid application development I still have not seen anything that comes close to the efficiency of a skilled rails developer.
Can make complex things in an instant
@levelsio@Shpigford You have to be close and use the Mac audio setting thing for the mic to boost up the “volume” / mic gain.
When I first got this mic the wave form was barely noticeable in editing software. Once I made that tweak and got a bit closer it was great.
@JakePechtel I had my vaccines and got covid in October it was not big deal for me personally. At this point I’m just living my life. Gym is great, only real precautions is wiping equip down… so status quo I guess. I’ve been flying, traveling etc. all is good.
@Daniel_Nyi@TheCoolestCool Yeah that’s a good insight.
I was wondering what the value would be of subscribing to that YouTube channel based on the fact the screen grab had mainly 15-60 second ads.
@mijustin@laravelphp Critical thing is for one person to be able to do everything start to finish.
Presentation, business logic, data storage
and keeping it online.
Hopefully all of that only continues to get easier but I don’t see rapid dev frameworks like those two going anywhere soon. ❤️ rails.
