The whole of England supported Aston Villa and they won the Europa League
The whole of England supported Crystal Palace and they won the Conference League
Over to you PSG, the whole of England are supporting you 🤝
@InvertTheWing CAn go back further to not giving Poch money to sign the players he wanted to rebuild with, firing him after our most sustained period of progress in 30yrs, chopping & changing styles (Poch, Mourinho, conte, Ange, frank, de zerbi), general loss of focus on the football team
🚨🎙️Joe Hart on Kai Havertz escaping a red card against Burnley, insists they’re doing to help Arsenal win the league:
“Listen, I’ve been in this game a long time as a player, now watching it closely and that challenge from Kai Havertz on the Burnley lad today is a stone-cold red card. Straight out of the IFAB Law 12 playbook: serious foul play.
You’re lunging in, studs showing high, minimal contact with the ball, endangering an opponent’s safety with excessive force. It’s reckless at best, dangerous and brutal at worst. The law is clear, ‘a tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent… must be sanctioned as serious foul play.’ VAR had a look and still bottled it. Yellow card? Come on.
If that was a Burnley player sliding into Saka or Ødegaard like that in the title run-in? Red card before he even hits the ground, three-game ban, headlines for days. But Arsenal? Nah, just a booking and carry on.
They’re doing everything, everything to help Arsenal win this league. Refs, VAR, the whole system. It’s not even subtle anymore. Big club protection on another level while teams like Burnley are fighting for their lives. How are we supposed to trust the integrity of the competition when decisions like this keep swinging one way?
Fans are fed up. Proper fans see it. This isn’t football anymore, it’s a scripted title charge. If Arsenal win it, a lot of people will have serious questions. Absolute shambles.”
200,000 people in 8 years. That is only 0.29% of the UK population over 8 years.
Yet it’s in the news every single day.
In that same time 4,000,000 people have emigrated away from the UK (twenty times as many people).
The news is in league with Farage. Sadly it’s working.
Nigel Farage is now posting this
“We now have 200,000 reasons Reform should be in government”
The 200,000 illegal migrants figure Farage is using is over several years and let’s remind ourselves how we got into this mess in the first place - BREXIT
When will UK news shows call this boll**** out?
Let’s call this bull**** out TOGETHER
The 200,000 illegal migrants figure Farage is using is over several years and let’s remind ourselves how we got into this mess in the first place - BREXIT
And now in threatening to punish those parts of the country where people don’t vote his way the Reform party leader is betraying the basic principles of democracy - its shameless and grotesque bullying which shows nothing but contempt for voters
8 lines every flag-shagging plastic “patriot” has in their playbook
1.“I want my country back” - From what? You voted for the party that ran it for 14 years.
2.“Our grandads didn’t fight for this” - Your grandads would be ashamed that you can’t find Normandy on a map. They fought with Poles, Sikhs, Gurkhas, and West Indians beside them. They’d have more in common with the immigrants you hate than plastic patriots sharing memes about them.
3.“This isn’t the Britain I grew up in” - Correct. It has lower crime, longer life expectancy, and better healthcare than the 1970s you’re romanticising. You just don’t remember the power cuts and three-day weeks.
4.“Britain is broken” - The most unpatriotic sentence in the English language, repeated daily by people say they love their country.
5. “We’re full” - The Netherlands has twice the population density and somehow manages. The UK is not full. It’s just had 14 years of no housebuilding and you need someone darker than you to blame for it.
6.“We look after our own first” - You vote for parties that cut disability benefits, froze nurses’ pay, gave tax breaks to the rich and closed Sure Start centres. You don’t look after anyone.
7.“Stop the boats” - The Tories spent £700 million on Rwanda to deport four people. Zero boats were stopped. You cheered anyway.
8.“Starmer is a traitor” - The man prosecuted terrorists, paedophile rings, and war criminals as DPP. You import American culture war propaganda from people who openly despise our allies, trash your own country 24/7, and follow convicted fraudsters who lied about where they were born. The only ones treacherously trashing Britain’s reputation daily are you.
To any young kid reading this…
I’ve doubted myself in every league I’ve ever played in.
Ryman Prem.
Conference South.
League Two.
League One.
Championship…
And even right before my first Premier League start last night.
That’s not weakness.
That’s being human.
That’s being alive.
When I was growing up, I thought Premier League players were superhuman.
Like they never felt doubt.
Like they never felt nerves.
The truth is…. it’s often the opposite.
Social media won’t tell you that sometimes you step out there with no confidence. That’s normal. That’s ok!
You now have to then step out there with courage.
Confidence feels good.
Courage doesn’t.
But you do it anyway. Show courage enough times…. You build confidence.
Here’s the mindset that’s carried me for 31 years.
When it goes well:
I worked for it.
I earned it.
Well done.
Watch it back.
Get better.
When it doesn’t:
I know I prepared the best I could.
It didn’t go exactly to plan. That’s football.
But Well done.
Watch it back.
Get better.
That simple recipe gave me a special moment last night.
Leading the team out.
Playing alongside a group that fights for every ball.
Celebrates tackles.
Gives everything for the city of Sunderland.
And sharing it with supporters who never gave up, even after four tough seasons in League One.
So if you’re a young player feeling doubt…
Low confidence…
Or like you don’t believe in yourself…
You’re not alone.
Every player feels it.
Confidence isn’t something you’re given.
It’s something you build.
Bit by bit.
Day by day.
With courage.
With work.
With learning.
Anything worth building takes time.
But that’s what makes it so worthwhile!
Thank you @SunderlandAFC ❤️🤍
Young people for the love of god go and vote.
Reform hate you.
Do not let these people anywhere near power.
They despise every single principle you hold dear.
Spurs' great captain, Danny Blanchflower, born 100 yrs ago today. Tonight, we'd do well to recall his words: "The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom". #COYS
Carole Cadwalladr, "My ongoing frustration with Nigel Farage he is seen as this English figure, wears tweed, goes to the pub, we see him through this lens"
"He has received almost no journalistic scrutiny throughout his entire career till very recently"
"He's not that cuddle cosy golf club English pub figure"
"He is in a relationship with the US far right and with the European pro-Kremlin far right"
"What happened in Brexit, we saw that money that force that influence, those networks coming together"
"It was the first real political campaign in the UK run through these online platforms"
"They ran a mock, blasted through electoral law, data law, and we're living with the consequences of that"
"Our constitution changes, the shape of Europe changed, our national security changed"
"And here is Nigel Farage in this pole position now, to potentially take power and we're not understanding the consequences of that"
"If you look at what Trump is doing in the US, the way he had a plan of what to do in office"
"Farage is now working with the same people"
"There is going to be an all out assault in the same way on the rule of law and our institutions"
Zack Polanski, "It's already happening"
Carole Cadwalladr, "The stakes of that are unfelt by most people, it's an abstract"
"We have to see what is happening in America and learn those lessons"
This is obscene.
That others in politics can’t or won’t say that this is obscene hits at the heart of the problems we face.
We are the 99.999%.
Tax the super rich.
