I just started reading "The War of Art", and fighting the resistance is a great analogy. You actually get better at fighting it as you do it more.

You don't have to write about things you already know. Writing forces you to think about things in an organized and focused way.

I often start writing something with a completely different point than I finish with.

One-line paragraphs are great for emphasis.

Your reader will be forced to stop and think, "Why was that important enough to stand on its own?"
