Because you'll never hear anybody else give you an honest assessment of what happened here: The bill, touted as a way to keep datacenters from pushing their energy expenses onto the citizenry, wasn't blocked in Senate because the Dems wanted to cause "max pain", it was opposed because the bill was toothless, only offering suggestions to states, and had no binding rules or enforcement. The bill gave states a year to form a committee to "consider" the proposed changes, and 2 years to make a decision whether to do it or not.

The Dems, instead, put up something called the GRID Act, which would have legislatively pushed the burden of energy expenses for AI datacenters to the AI datacenter companies. GRID would have forced FERC to create a binding ruleset that any facility using more than 150 megawatts pay for its own power and connection costs. GRID was blocked by Republican and AI data center lackey Bernie Moreno.

And once again I say I am SICK of the GOP forcing me, a damned CONSERVATIVE, to take up for the frigging DEMOCRATS because the "Republicans" are too busy virtue signaling and trying to screw The People over.
