@partylover82372 Hi there. In the article I was in fact very critical of the original omnium with the flying lap etc - it was much worse than what we have now. And I pointed out that in 2016 endurance riders only had two events, the weird hodge-podge omnium and the TP. But thanks for reading!
Only at the Tour de France could you be hit round the head by a flying washing powder sample while eating your lunch, and a grown man passes by, picks up the sample, and runs off with it... #TDF2024
@TimBonvilleGinn Ha! That was my experience at the Irish road champs last year, I was bright red. Bumped into Mark Downey and the first thing he said was ‘Look at the state of your head’…
@CHAIRRDRF@roadcc I did, however, include several links in the article to other previous helmet debate stories, including (near the very top of the text) a very lengthy feature which explored the debate in detail, in the wake of the Dan Walker story. Hope that all makes sense!
@CHAIRRDRF@roadcc In this instance, a story about a 12 year old who's lost her brother, I thought it would be a touch crass to (again in a straight news story) to write "Here's where she's wrong" (the readers can draw their own conclusions of course). 2./
@CHAIRRDRF @gazza_d @roadcc In my defence, the whole thing was meant as a tongue-in-cheek, light-hearted break from all the doom and gloom and serious stuff elsewhere on the site. But it turns out that people on the internet love getting angry about everything and anything. Who knew?!
Forget the whole Cian Uijtdebroeks transfer saga and Visma v Bora, this is the real pro cycling scandal of the week – the great Celine Dion plagiarism affair…
Have to say, EF and Alison Jackson’s version (from January) clinches it for me, thanks to the pink lighting
